Cíle předmětu
The goal of this reading seminar is to approach the process of writing as the one expressing much more than it is actually written. The goal is to explain the relation between the girl, the war and the book.
Osnova
  • We will together read selected passages from the diary written by Anne Frank, and through them we will be accessing the inner world of the teenage author and the outer world of the war and the persecution. The object of this module will be a closer look at the result of the synergy between the context and the author, i.e. on the book itself, and we will utilize a hermeneutical method. It means that the main question will be: What does ‘said’ say about what is ‘unsaid’?

Reading in English, discussion, presentation.
Metody hodnocení
Each student will be required to read the book regularly, to discuss with the colleagues in the class, to be present on at least 75% of classes, to prepare one presentation (10-15 mins), to think, and to speak English.
